Cape Cod wildlife center monitors a rare two-headed terrapin
What happened
A diamondback terrapin hatchling with two heads is receiving care at Cape Wildlife Center after being found at a protected Wellfleet nesting site and transferred by Mass Audubon. UPI published the case on October 1; the wildlife center had announced the hatchling on September 17. Staff described the condition as bicephaly and said only two comparable cases had reached the center during the previous five years.
Why it matters
Two-headed turtles can face complications with feeding, movement and organ development, so the center is tracking appetite, growth and behavior rather than declaring a prognosis from appearance alone. The report documents one living patient and an unusually careful monitoring plan; it does not establish how long the animal will live or whether both heads control the body equally.
The Blappos angle
Verified reporting ends above. The Blappos interpretation: two heads have arrived with one tiny agenda and an entire veterinary clipboard. The magnet uses an original, stylized hatchling and anonymous caregivers—no patient photograph, real person's likeness, institutional mark or claim that the animal is a novelty pet.
