Canadian grandmother holds a five-hour plank; Guinness review is pending

What happened

Good Morning America reported on October 8 that DonnaJean Wilde, 61, completed a five-hour abdominal plank during the Huntsman World Senior Games in Utah. Guinness World Records told ABC News it had received an application and would review the evidence before declaring a new record; Wilde’s certified 2024 mark is 4 hours, 30 minutes and 11 seconds.

Why it matters

The feat is remarkable even before certification, but an attempted record and an adjudicated record are not interchangeable. Preserving that distinction gives credit for the documented five-hour performance without turning a submitted application into an official title early.

The Blappos angle

Five Hours. One Plank. Five hours made the gym clock file for overtime. The illustration uses an anonymous older athlete and an invented arena, not Wilde’s face, event branding or a claim that viewers should attempt the feat without appropriate preparation.
