Man moves 51 malt balls by straw in one minute; record remains pending
What happened
UPI reported on October 6 that Idaho record-breaker David Rush used suction through a straw to move 51 malt balls between bowls 30 centimeters apart in one minute. His first attempt was invalidated after he bumped a bowl, and the final count excluded a 52nd candy that arrived after time expired.
Why it matters
The attempt more than cleared the listed benchmark of 32, but Guinness World Records has not yet confirmed it. That distinction matters: documentation can make an extraordinary claim verifiable, while a dramatic video and an unofficial count are only the application.
The Blappos angle
One Straw. One Minute. Record Pending. The candy moved quickly; the paperwork keeps its own pace. The card documents a submitted attempt, not an already certified world record.
