What happened
NDTV reported that 72-year-old Kapildev Rawat of Jamui, Bihar, fulfilled a long-held dream by paragliding at nearly 24,000 feet in Himachal Pradesh. Rawat initially hesitated because of his age but went ahead after encouragement from his children.
Why it matters
Rawat described the flight as exciting, joyful and emotional, and credited his family for helping him attempt it. His outing turned a familiar family dynamic upside down: instead of children being warned not to do something dangerous, the children talked their father into leaving the mountain.
