Rambo hides from nine ewes; concrete pipe requests backup

What happened

UPI reported that a roughly 220-pound ram named Rambo became firmly wedged inside a concrete pipe at Western Farm in Kingsdon, Somerset. Firefighters used chimney rods, ropes and a sheet to free him. His owner said he had entered the culvert for relief from nine amorous ewes, and he emerged unharmed.

Why it matters

A trapped animal that size can injure itself or rescuers if pulled carelessly, so the improvised combination of long rods, controlled rope tension and a protective sheet mattered. The rescue also prompted the farm to block the pipe against repeat romantic retreats.
