Runaway parade horse activates motorcycles, drones and the entire cowboy reserve

What happened

UPI reported that a horse escaped shortly before Santa Fe’s Desfile de La Gente parade and led responders on a roughly 12-minute pursuit. Police motorcycles and bicycles, a drone, animal-services officers and local cowboys joined the search before a cowboy roped the horse and returned it in time for the parade.

Why it matters

A loose horse near public streets and a crowded event creates risks for the animal, drivers and bystanders. The layered response combined traffic control, an overhead view and experienced horse handling; the pursuit ended without a reported injury and the horse received water before rejoining the event.
