Skydivers parachute into a Wisconsin cornfield to aid plane-crash survivors

What happened

Three experienced skydivers aboard a Skydive Milwaukee aircraft saw a single-engine plane carrying four people crash into a cornfield near East Troy on September 27. After the jump pilot reported the crash, the three parachuted near the difficult-to-reach site. At least two had former paramedic training, and one treated a woman with a serious head injury until ground responders arrived. The Guardian reported the rescue on September 29.

All four people aboard the crashed plane survived; three went to a hospital and one was treated at the scene.
