Air Force One deploys the exit before the president boards
What happened
President Donald Trump’s departure for Dallas was briefly delayed after an emergency slide deployed from the new Air Force One while the aircraft sat at Joint Base Andrews. Reuters reported that military personnel accidentally triggered the slide; crews removed it and the flight departed.
Why it matters
Emergency slides are single-use equipment that must be removed and serviced after deployment, so an accidental inflation can turn a normal departure into an expensive tarmac reset. No emergency was reported and the trip continued.
The Blappos angle
The plane apparently heard “boarding begins” and selected “evacuate.” Nothing says presidential transportation like arriving at the jet and finding it has already tried to leave without you.
