Nicolas Cage’s driveway gets a basement it did not order
What happened
A large sinkhole opened beneath the driveway of a beachfront Malibu home reportedly owned by Nicolas Cage, damaging the property and helping trigger evacuation orders along Sea Level Drive. Officials said the hole grew to roughly 25–30 feet deep and about 30 by 60 feet wide.
Why it matters
The collapse followed severe surf, tides and coastal erosion associated with the remnants of Hurricane Marie. Authorities restricted access because the expanding void threatened homes, utilities and emergency access.
The Blappos angle
Nicolas Cage has survived stolen declarations, face swaps and a wicker-man situation. The driveway finally found a plot twist he had not already filmed.
