Terrier loses argument with recliner; firefighters escalate immediately
What happened
A rescue terrier named Highway became so badly tangled inside a recliner that firefighters from the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company brought in hydraulic rescue equipment. They used the Jaws of Life to free the dog before he was taken for emergency veterinary care.
Why it matters
Reclining furniture contains moving metal mechanisms and tight internal spaces that can be dangerous for pets that crawl underneath or inside. The rescue drew a wave of similar pet-owner stories online.
